CASE STUDY

Coordinating Rapid Emergency Logistics and Data Management for Asylum Seeker Respite Centers

Deployed rapid-response data infrastructure, a QR-code tracking system, and 24/7 on-site logistical leadership to efficiently coordinate shelter, supplies, and transit for thousands of individuals during an unprecedented humanitarian crisis.

01. Challenge

Overcoming Fragmented Data Streams in a Rapidly Evolving Crisis

A major metropolitan city faced a sudden and historic influx of over 200,000 asylum seekers, overwhelming the city's existing long-term shelter infrastructure and emergency support systems. Because field information was siloed across various locations, executive leadership lacked the real-time visibility into bed occupancy, guest status, and supply chains required to make rapid, safety-critical resource allocations.

02. Solution

Building an Automated, Multi-Sector Emergency Data Pipeline

Our team rolled out a rapid-response data architecture alongside an innovative QR code-scanning system to instantly capture intake and bed vacancy data across centers. Simultaneously, we provided full-scale operational leadership on the ground, managing complex staffing rosters, performing regular data integrity audits, training volunteers, and streamlining the delivery networks for life-support and medical assets.

03. Impact

 Institutionalizing Data-Driven Emergency Operations

Our interventions successfully synchronized field metrics with leadership dashboards, empowering the City to run a highly coordinated, data-aligned humanitarian response. By optimizing respite center logistics and managing an end-to-end guest reticketing program, we significantly reduced systemic bottlenecks, facilitated safe regional transfers, and minimized prolonged strain on municipal shelter infrastructure.
