Gary Lin

CHIEF DATA SCIENTIST

Dr. Lin is an accomplished economist with more than a decade of experience specializing in advanced econometric analysis and forecasting, with particular expertise in workforce training and social insurance programs. He has led major research initiatives in these areas, including evaluating the economic impact of federal layoffs and developing financial forecasting models for the District of Columbia’s Unemployment Insurance and Paid Family Leave Trust Funds.

Holding a Ph.D. in Applied Economics from Cornell University, Dr. Lin combines a strong foundation in applied microeconomics and policy analysis with deep knowledge of theoretical and applied econometrics. His work focuses particularly on causal inference and program evaluation methodologies. For his doctoral dissertation. Dr. Lin applied these empirical frameworks to analyze how education and vocational training programs help shape economic outcomes for workers adversely affected by automation and globalization. 

Dr. Lin’s broader expertise includes economic impact analysis, cost-benefit assessments, advanced data analytics, and survey sampling techniques. He is recognized for his innovative analytical approach and has led numerous successful data-driven projects. His research has been published in leading peer-reviewed economics journals. He also excels in communicating complex economic concepts clearly and effectively to a wide range of audiences.
